Nottingham forest v wolves

Like the look of the new signings but would feel happier if we had signed a centre back.
Forest seem to have really strengthened. Is this the Mendes/Nuno effect?
On paper this was our best chance of coming away with some points from the opening games of the season but we have not done well there lately.
As to the team, i have no idea who will be playing. Given Gary’s latest comments regarding not having the players to play the way he wants, we may, well move away from the back 4.
Off to the match later and hoping for a 2-1 win.
Dont want to see a Gibbs White celebration. Do we get any extra money following his England call up.

This is what will happen today. The Brazilian contingent in the Wolves squad will have alerted the attention of the ghost of Pele who will be descending from the clouds above the City Ground. Unseen to the Forest defenders and goalie. With the score at 1.1 with 2 minutes of injury time left WWFC win a corner. As the ball comes across towards the Forest goalie the unseen ghost of Pele will leg him over enabling the ball to sail in to the unguarded net resulting in a 2.1 win for WWFC. After the game GON said " yeah. It’s great when you get the spirit of the greatest player of all time lending a hand to us. I will be visiting the Bishop of Wolverhampton on Monday to ask him to convey our thanks to Pele". Nuno said. " Looks like I need a new goalie. He can’t just drop to the floor like that at a corner. It was almost like an unseen spirit legged him over". Forest 1 WWFC 2.

Fingers and everything else crossed. One point at least, please.

Interesting that Sam Johnstone is in goal and no sign of Sa. Does that mean that Jose is off to Saudi Arabia?

Sorry, 1-1 score. A win would be fabulous, but this will do me.

Looks like it ENM. Hopefully Johnstone will be even better.

Forest 2 v 3 Wolves.

Good point in the end. Important not to lose today. Highly amusing to see Everton 2-0 up after 87 mins and lost 3-2. I can imagine Goodison Park recognising the 87 minutes of happiness by applauding the players off the park.

Take a point for sure.
Rocket shot from JRB.

Unusually enough it seems we were on the end of a penalty shout but VAR didn’t intervene. Guaranteed in the 3 games tomorrow something similar will occur and penalty given/VAR intervention.

A point well earned with some notable standout performances by new, and old (Craig Dawson) players.
But one thing just baffles me.
Zonal defence, man for man defence, whatever defence you go with, there is surely NO defence for leaving the man who you would put money on to score against us, totally unmarked at a corner kick.
I remember a while back when we played Man City, Craig Dawson was given the onerous task of marking Haaland. He promptly put him in his pocket where he remained for the rest of the match.
Mark zonally if you want but if the opposition has a particular danger man, get some super glue and attach your best defender to him.
It’s not rocket science.

Fully agree Doog. Have we learned nothing from our history re Wood? It was a very poor goal to concede. The set piece coach has work to do.

I agree.
Man marking or zonal, every club needs an override plan for those players with a history of being serial scorers against them.
I call it the “Kevin Phillips” law.
How often do we give him the freedom of the pitch, no matter the hue of his shirt.
