Not sure if anyone has stumbled across this yet.
I found it both interesting and concerning in equal measure.
The guy speaks much sense.
Yikes…its not rocket science and anyone we play will have the freedom of the pitch after they have done similar homework.
The conundrum for me is that I’ve seen Ait-Nouri keep Salah in his pocket for the whole game…so he CAN defend…but he goes walkabout. Semedo recall was part of the Barca defence that conceded 8 to Bayern. He always looks vulnerable. When you’re in a hole the first priority is to stop digging. We need to focus on becoming hard to score against…if that’s a back 5 so be it.
Two games coming where we might get hammered if we don’t park the bus.
The thing is Marin, your full backs have to have defensive quality if you only have 2 centre halves. We don’t actually have any full backs, only wing backs, who are great going forward but need 3 centre halves to cover for their attacking tendencies.
We can never go with a four unless we fire the entire defence and start again. In my view, only Mosquera is up to the task.
totally agree WS…I was mystified when we let Hugo Bueno move away…I keep looking at the squad list and it reeks of optimistic recruitment.
So we have to use Toti, Dawson and big Bueno and have Doyle as the extra cover and creator…not Andre, not Doherty…aargh.
Agreed Marin, though I see young Hugo as more of a wing back.
The truth is this should have all been sorted out in the pre season which tells me (and im not the only one who thinks this ) that our gary as well meaning as he is is not anywhere near the job thats required to play consistently at premier levels .
Personaly i think we need to replace him and his equally inexperienced team with a matter of utmost urgency .
I just dont think at this moment in time he has the necessary experience to change this around before its too late.
You will ask “who next then” well that bloke who took over from nuno at porto ( i think its porto) is hanging around twiddling his thumbs so perhaps geoff could tell him a pack of lies about investment and get him in , he did ok for them.
Ben in the pub always bets 3-1 to wolves but this time he’s going 3-1 to city i told him to cross the one off and put in front of the 3.
yours sincerly the eternal optimist ( not)
Whatever the case is, just start trying to get points.
If that means 3 at the back, so be it.
If we can get a few points in the next 5 games, we’ll be in a much better position.
Spikey, some unheard of chap at Forest seems to be doing a cracking job, perhaps we should get him over.
KTF
Thats a great idea … do you think geoff could could talk him round
Mixture of hangover from last season and tough games. Although I would argue Chelsea Newcastle Liverpool at home maybe should have got 3 points out of them. Chelsea still a bit indifferent. Newcastle not that great away and Liverpool new manager/style. Away we have 1 point. Again I would argue 3 from those 4. Brentford/Forest ? I think we are 5 points short. Going forward my question is how do we win 11 games of football which I think would see us safe. I will suggest the home games are key from now on. Under J -Lo we developed fortress Molineux and the wins we obtained came at home (I think we won 2 away at Everton and Southampton). Lately our Molineux form has been abysmal. I think 7 defeats in 8. This can’t go on otherwise we are doomed. We need to stop the rot and then build. 11 wins from 31 games is not impossible. I would break it down to win 5 from 15. And 6 from 16. Formation change needed. And a bit more creativity in midfield (bring on Tommy Doyle). We can’t keep conceding 3 goals per game. We need 4 to win. Back 5 required now and then off we go! Wolves ay we.
Dreading going today. When we beat City in the past the crowd were behind wolves. Not sure that will happen today as apathy has set in.
The longer the poor run continues, the points per game required increases and becomes an even bigger mountain to climb. Would love a 2-1 win…
