Southampton are enduring one of the worst seasons in Premier League history. Their fans must be heartily sick of seeing the ball nestle in the back of their net. It would be easy to feel sorry for them and ease off the gas but somehow I don’t think Vítor will be feeling at all charitable. He will be wanting to go a long way toward securing our own position by securing a handsome victory and as that involves twisting the knife which is embedded in the Saints already, that’s how it has to be.
Historically, many Saints were created from martyrs. Let’s martyr a few more today to keep the tradition going.
