So what are everyones thoughts? For me, the increases for kids are the worst. If their parents cant afford to take them then the only football they will watch will be on tv. Given the love for the top 6 local kids will end up becoming man city or arsenal fans as they will not experience a live match at molineux.
Reading social media it’s created a real sh+T storm Frankski. I was expecting an increase but 17% in the SB, which apart from the red seats for my 1st season ticket in the “new stand” hasn’t had any maintenance since is a bit of a joke. For me the worse part was Jeff’s communication saying if you want ambition then maybe Wolves FC is not for you. What a cheek. Most of us didn’t choose WWFC, it chose us, through birth and family connections. They (Jeff) sees the future on tourists and not legacy fans. I’ve been going since 1967, my Mum got my first season ticket in 1974, little book with tear out coupons. Really struggling with this renewal. VAR, 6 hour round trip now the price hike.
It does seem OTT Franski. I fear that the owners may come unstuck if they expect any people not renewing to simply be replaced by people off the waiting list. I myself am on the list. However, I wasn’t going to get the season ticket simply because of VAR. With this as well, then it’s certainly not going to happen.
I will say though, that although Fosun have misjudged the response of the fanbase to this, they do need to maximise the income they can generate. We all want a successful team and that has to be paid for. So they’ve tested the waters with the fanbase and got their not unexpected response.
I just hope that the furore doesn’t dent Fosun’s commitment in the summer transfer window. With half a dozen well chosen additions, we could have a very good season.
And if they are relying on Korean fans to fill the gap, what happens if Hwang leaves.
Good Evening. Cheeseburger enrolling to the new era. How are we all ?
This increase in season ticket prices is a disgrace. Fosun have detached themselves from fans here. Fosun have given us some brilliant times but they have lost me here. 17% increase is not reasonable nor in keeping with the economic circumstances in the Wolverhampton area. Wolves are an institution to fans. We won’t accept our club being a money making machine on the back of fan wellbeing. Football clubs in general will succumb to fan pressure eventually. Fosun need to be aware. FWAW
I am really enthused by the solidarity shown by fans and fans of other clubs. Maybe a new era of solidarity may be upon us against the ruling elite. I look forward to it.
Welcome Cheesey. Glad you and your psychic menagerie could join us.
And now Jeff is saying that we will hopefully be bringing in 1 or 2 forwards and that next season may only be a small or no increase after bringing us in line with other clubs this year.
Apart from Che Adams who I consider should be a squad player, I can’t see us signing a first team no 9.
And given Shi’s track record can anyone believe him regarding increases next year.
This year is the problem as the prices are too high and still will be next year even if no increase.
Wolfie mate. Still trying to work this site out. Get there. Probably because I have been on the piss all day
Well, it is holiday time Cheesey. What else is a guy supposed to do ?
Not keeping the kids prices the same is counter productive to long term support and very short sighted.
I guess this increase will raise 2 million a year so in 19 years Wolves would have recooped the cost of the Silva purchase!!
welcome cheesy thank goodness i will still be able to read your zany predictions
Finally logged in I am delighted to report.
As for price increases etc…I think Jeff is just obeying orders……
I believe he has to do as instructed by Fosun.
Everyone knew we would have a price rise this season, I was certainly expecting it, but the price rise for the kids beggars belief. They are the life blood of the club and should be encouraged to follow their home team not priced out of it
The prawn sandwich and tourists won’t be here when we and the kids are still cheering our team on.
On a different subject…Twix…
Where are you???
I think Twixxy, Doogooder and a few others were having problems logging into this new site Lowves. Not sure why though.
Had a reminder from WWFC to renew by 14th June. I sent a strongly worded reply stating I will renew but I am not happy with the way this decision has been communicated or the impact on on kids and the disabled. I will renew under protest. I will be watching very closely as to what Jeff /Fosun do with regards to the summer transfer window. You can’t take fans for granted without something in return.
Thanks mate. Nice to see you and some other familiar names on this forum.
This article
sent shivers down my spine. Although headlined about WWFC’s VAR proposal, it covers other items that are up for discussion. The ones to do with finance show just what a tangled web has been spun as those with the power have taken us further and further away from what is essentially a very simple game.
The grip that financial matters have on the game is frightening. Matches have become commodities to be traded like anything else of value and it shows why the real fans have become almost an irrelevance.
The Doogooder emailed me today to ask I went on here to say farewell on his behalf. He says he has tried several different email addresses to log on to Discord and is unable to gain access. He has a few e mail contacts with some of you from the Blog and says will keep in touch.
