Long drive home

Mmmm well that was :poop:. Doog did try to say hello, but it was a bit chocker around you…

Only made it to 2-5 then went back to bed
Let’s hope Gon ditches this back four fiasco he hasn’t got the personnel for it, Ran caught hopelessly out of position time and again leaving Toti exposed he’s not a fullback but a wing back.
I think Hwang will be lucky to start the next game he was invisible
I’m a Sa fan but the last 2 games he has been so skittish he’s starting to create panic around him.
Haven’t got a clue what Podence and Guedes are doing there they’ve both said they don’t want to be there
On a plus Larsen looks like one of the missing pieces to the puzzle

Postives were Larsen, Gomes and Yerson. Lemina did ok but the system left us so exposed. Hwang and JRB were invisible, leaving our fullbacks - and especially Ait Nouri who can’t defend at the best of times - completely exposed. Gary, the back 4 experiment was admirable, but look forward to 5 at back against Forest and the rest of the season

I too find the obsession with going to a back four a bit mystifying. We have the players for a three and never look anything but fragile with a four.
Three at the back works for us and we can be far more aggressive with that security behind us.
Time to make that decision methinks.

Quite shocking the cave in within a few minutes. I thought we may have been the better side first half but what came next was reminiscent of the Dave Jones 2003/2004 side when we were just ripped apart by superior teams. We all know what happened then. Solution? The tried and tested five at the back with Dawson in the middle sorting it out. We just don’t have the players to make a back four work. So we go back to basics. And grind out a few points before it’s too late. We do have enough decent players to make it work.

Sorry Marnhull, probably best we didn’t meet. My expletives would have been rather explicit. Talk about a game of two halves!

Gary O’neil’s managerial win ratio 33.33%

Slightly off message but the EPL must have been delighted to see VAR pop up to kill off any green shoots of a recovery today.
The complete elimination of hairline decisions such as Toti being o/s for Mario’s goal will guarantee that all the spoils will get spread around the usual suspects at the end of the season.
The fact that the minted clubs voted to keep it to make them even more minted.
But what about the rest ?
Turkeys voting for Christmas just doesn’t do it justice.

Annihilation by a team that i thought we could beat easily…Our defence without Kilman and Dawson isnt one and i now know why we are also looking for a goalie too…

Superb come back 1st half but.who could of predicted 6 in the second ?

Forest away a daunting task we can only attack to stop the holes at the back occurring again…ie we have to put in at least 2.
We need a mega centre half…immediately.

Back to a struggle and begging for points.
Oh Wolves…

Suffice to say that Pedro Neto is no longer on my Christmas card list after his over the top, and rather pathetically childish, celebrations after Chelsea goals.
Considering the love he got from Wolves fans while he was here - and the months of treatment being nursed back to health by the Wolves medical staff and backroom boys - pretty disgusting I thought.
But I love the new haircut and highlights Pedro.
Very Chelsea!

For all his problems with age, speed and fitness, Daws has to start for his quality and leadership. If Hwang doesnt score, he contributes almost nothing. RAN is not a left back - everybody knows except GON. Sa is a shadow of what he was and often a liabilty. One win in 15(?) is having a detrimental effect on the team and fans. We are going backwards but Fosun do not seem to care.

Yes. I have gone back to 2nd March 2024 and the record in the premier league reads W 2 D 2 L 10. Gives us 8 points from the last 14 premier league games. Teams staying up usually do so by averaging 1 point per game. As discussed previously there are reasons for the decline. Injuries. Players sold etc. We need to get that average up. Ten games will be my marker. And we need to be on 9 or 10 points at that stage. Three wins from the next eight so no need to panic yet. Hopefully a couple of quality additions to come. Particularly defensively.

Don’t forget though that we tanked badly at home against Brighton early last season and we recovered from that…. so keep your chin up !

You’ve said it all as i see it and GON just has to bite the bulletand see the light imo.
We don’t have the personel to play a back four against the better teams and you can never play a back line without an experienced organiser in a central role.lt is obvious to all of us. Given that a couple of guys further forward are not putting in the desired effort, thus letting down their mates and leaving them exposed worsens the situation.

We have some great players but it starting to resemble Gary’s England approach, so come on, our Gary, be flexible and use the tactics that suit the squad for the opposition being met and put the absentees on the pitch on warning; no undue favouritism.
We have a decent set of players who seriously need replacements to fill the holes quickly. Fosun, get your cheque book out, please…

We could have shared expletives!

Nope … not me London!
Match was on Peacock’s streaming service so knew result before I sipped my cappuccino and mimosa … couldn’t imagine what I was about to witness.
Aaargh! Felt we edged first half but second was a horror show. Unlike the many leaving Mol early I toughed it out to final whistle.
Ait CAN defend… I’ve seen him have Salah in
His pocket… but he went AWOL yesterday

Hwang … nah
Does Podence scare anyone?

Must beat Burnley as losing gets to be habitual

GO’N needs to sort this fast as Forest will be licking their lips

The whole dynamic at WWFC since the Nuno revolution has been a regimented 3-4-3. It has served us well. Not admittedly the most attractive set up with regards to thrills and goals but enough to more than hold out own in the EPL. Should we now revert to what we know? RAN and Doc certainly more effective as wing backs. Do we have the players to serve a back 4 effectively?

It’s taken me a day to get over the match, but the memory still hurts. I know I winced every time Chelsea scored - and most of their goals were avoidable.

I missed Neto’s unseemly celebration for their last goal but caught it on MOTD. Totally agree with Doog above.

Talking of MOTD, no coverage whatsoever of Lemina’s disallowed goal. Or was it just my telly? Dereliction of duty springs to mind.

I hope the brave souls going to Molineux for Wednesday’s match have better luck. Wolves need to bounce back.
